Personal Profile
I decided to enter the world of acupuncture as a second career - intrigued by its underlying premise for treating the mind, body and spirit in total. I have always been interested in psychoneuroimmunology - the study of how thoughts and emotions affect the immune system and in the electromagnetic components of the human body. These are relatively new fields of study in Western Medicine, but both have been the basis of acupuncture for over 3,000 years. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, I spent over 20 years in the corporate sector as an engineer and manager. I worked with and for many small and large businesses and government agencies. Now I use my 'consulting' skills to partner with clients who are seeking better health and a more balanced, centered lifestyle. I seek to explain how acupuncture works in both Eastern and Western medical terms.
In addition to my acupuncture credentials listed above, I earned my bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and my Masters degree in Microbiology from the Idaho State University.
